Can Reggie Bush improve as a runner?

Thursday, June 21st, 2007
Brian Baldinger, on the NFL Network, had some interesting notes to give in talking about Reggie Bush.

Below, Baldinger talks about Bush’s lack of patience inside the tackles, and gives a couple of examples of where he can become a better runner.

The Network also gave a couple of interesting stats about Bush:

Last season, Bush carried the ball 155 times. On 52 of those carries, he was stopped for negative yards.

And his stats for his first 11 games were: 30.1 ypcarry, 39.2 ypcatch, 1 td.
Stats for Bush’s final 7 games: 43.6 ypcarry, 66.4 ypcatch, 9 tds.

The best left fielder in baseball stole home Wednesday night against the Red Sox.

And rumor has it that Ozzie Guillen is going to pick Magglio Ordonez to take Manny Ramirez’s spot on the All-Star team. I don’t expect better from Guillen, but he’s an idiot. Cause he’s an idiot.

I do regret my tivo not letting me go back more than a half hour to record the fly ball he caught off Kevin Youkilis that bounced off the Trop B ring and made CC change directions and sprint 15 yards to his left to make the out.

By the way, Crawford is the first MLBer to steal 2nd, 3rd, and home since Eric Young did it on June 30, 1996.

One last note about the ‘06 Cup finals: Any opportunity I get to post something on this site that’s Stephen Colbert related, I’ll take it. Especially when he’s making fun on the Hurricanes.

    Since it’s called Breakaway Beach…

    GOilers

(p.s. Don’t discount the play that Michael Peca made to force a esparate clear by Carolina that led to this goal. I’ll try to get video up on that later.)

UPDATE: Here’s the full clip of he game-winning play, from penalty to goal. Note the above mentioned play by Peca to force the play deep inside Hurricane territory. It’s just one of many plays of this playoff run that sums up the determination this Oilers team has.
